Welcome!

I am a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an organization dedicated to research and recreation of pre-17th century history.

I used to go by Giuliana di Benedetto Falconieri, but for long and involved reasons, I submitted a name change.  I'm now known as Sighni Ivarsdotter.
I hail from the Barony of Winter's Gate,  Principality of Oertha (Alaska), Kingdom of the West.

My hobbies include needlework, sprang, chainmaille, drumming, and wire weaving. I have also done glassblowing, weaving, hammered dulcimer, and various other arts, but I'm trying to stay more focused.

I received my Laurel, a society-level award for artisans, for my work in embroidery on August 15, 2009.

UPDATES

04.04.2011: I am on an extended business trip, and am in
Falcon's Quarry, Midrealm until further notice.

CLASSES AND HANDOUTS

I shall be teaching a class on Viking Whipcord whilst in the Midrealm. The handouts are in full-color, and are expensive to reproduce. In order to keep costs down, please bring a handout with you to class.

For a copy of the handout, just click here.

07.20.2011, Barony of Cleftlands, Euclid, OH, 7:30 PM

If you've recently taken my Viking Embroidery class, you can find a copy of that handout
here.

As always, all of my class handouts are available in my Research section.

The website is currently under revision. I have over 80 pages to tweak, so it's a long process. I started with the embroidery section.  It's almost complete, with only a dozen more pages to add.  I'll mark the new pages when I post them,  Then it's on to the textile pages, which includes my glass blowing, costuming, whipcord and weaving.

I am also a bit behind in updating my A&S 50 page. Sorry, folks.
